Song of the week, catch up, whats to come.

Oh man I feel lost and confused. Logging in to this page and seeing I havent been on since February 5th?!? Thats just crazy. I have a lot to blog thank goodness spring break is in two weeks! I have a new recipe for chocolate peanut butter granola, I have a post about a resteraunt I tried that was featured in a magazine and I actually met the “lobster Nazi”…like the soup Nazi from “Seinfeld”. It was insane and I cant wait to write about it. I also have become obsessed with “Pride and Prejudice” the movie (2005) and Mr. Darcy! My oh my hes my new obsession. So I will leave all that to the next posts and move on to my song of the week. It is “Angeline the Baker” a folk song and I chose Mumford and Sons cover because its awesome to say the least and always stuck in my head. wunCLHhxKdc. Listen, fall in love and like me for showing you :). I will blog soon and talk about the lobster nazi. Lately my food obsessions have been sushi, greek yogurt, and crepes so a few pictures of crepes and sushi will probably show up :P. Thanks for reading and just hold on a little the best is yet to come!!!

The new year

I’m a bit behind in everything already and its only the 11th day of  2012, this year is not looking good for me! The last week and a half I was sick with an awful cold, all I did was lay in bed and watch the Lord of The Rings. It was a nice break from reality until I finished the Lord of The Rings and couldn’t figure out what to watch next. My new years resolution last year was to go on an adventure, did I go on an adventure? hmm technically no. I didn’t travel to any special destination but I did do an excellent job of finding myself last year. I found my real personality again that I had lost for a few years, I found a few new amazing friends, I found a new healthier life style, I started taking a cake decorating class (my first step towards my future career) and on december 28th I got my nose pierced 🙂 . I had been thinking about getting it done for a while and kept changing my mind and it was annoying so I decided to just get it over with and done so I could move on. Im glad I got my nose pierced, I love it, I faced my fear which helped me feel stronger and more powerful. This year my new years resolution is to get to my goal weight and get in good enough shape to run for about an hour. 2011 was such an amazing year for me, so much happened and so much changed for the better I honestly hope 2012 is the same.

I hope you all had an amazing holiday with your family!! thank you for reading and I hope 2012 is a year that works in your favor!! 🙂

Quick hello

I am currently sitting on my kitchen floor with my boxer Daisy. Yesterday I finished my Christmas shopping and wrapped presents (lots of fun! i absolutely adore giving presents!!) today me and my father are heading to the grocery store in the beautiful rain to procure some ingredients for my holiday baking. I get three weeks off of school this year and trust me they will be spent well and in the kitchen! I plan on baking cinnamon rolls(christmas-cinnamon-rolls) for christmas morning (tradition that I carried on for my dad because his mom used to do it, and i luckily found a recipe that I can start the day before other wise it wouldn’t happen!) the swedish cookies pepparkakor that are rolled in cinnamon and sugar YUM!(pepparkakor-mmmmm) peanut butter cookies(peanut-butter-cookies) that I am handing out to my brothers friends for presents, peanut butter cake (peanut-butter-cake), brioche bread, spiced slice and bake cookies, chocolate cookies rolled in powdered sugar then baked, gingerbread, and maybe sugar cookies for my brother since they are his favorite. Clearly my family and I plan on gaining some holiday weight haha :). I hope to get recipes, pictures and stories up soon! I already have the pictures for the spiced slice and bake cookies and chocolate biscotti done so soon *fingers crossed*. I truly hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a beautiful Christmas with your family!! God Bless you all!! 🙂

quick note 🙂 some of the recipes i mentioned I have already posted, so the links are included they are just in super light blue but right next to the name.

Ah…i’m back :)

Life got crazy, school got ridiculous, I got behind and lost but I found the way out and im back. I’m caught up and as we speak life is pretty good. My cat Baloo who was originally an outside cat is exploring my room (it was raining I had to bring him in!) and loving it and he now has a belly and I can no longer see his bones. I finally got back to working out and going to church so I feel pretty much amazing right now.  I’m currently reading J.R.R. Tolkien’s “unfinished Tales” and finding it very fascinating. I’m getting back to my schedule of getting up at 7 working on school till 1 then working out and hopefully that will lead me to more baking and back to blogging because I really do miss it.

After recording all my Halloween movies that I watch every year (the list includes, Halloween, Nosferatu, Frankenstein, Night of the living Dead…ya know the classics?) I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that Halloween is the best time for movies. I wait every year for this time of year JUST for the movies (and maybe also the candy). Yes..yes! I get it Christmas has awesome movies too! and candy! but there’s just something about those classic thriller, slasher, mask, vampire movies that just stick with me. Right now its the best time of year, its like Christmas without the stress of shopping, money and everything else that makes christmas movies hilarious.

I’m off for now, tonight I start my first class that will teach me how to really decorate cakes and im super excited to say the very least!

Thank you for reading and hopefully I’ll be back on soon! I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week!

A quick update

Oh has life been busy..? Why yes, yes it has…and I hate it. School started two weeks earlier than I had originally planned/thought so I didn’t exactly finish my summer to-do list but I AM still working on it. I am almost done reading Lord of the Rings, I did end up making a new pie (that post will be written soon hopefully) and I just gave up on the flower bulbs so now they are completely dead in my backyard and honestly I could care less because they were annoying little things. I adopted a new outside cat (my mom has to keep reminding me that he is in fact an outside cat) named Baloo after the bear from the Jungle Book. He is absolutely darling! If I could have one pet for the rest of my life I would choose him. I recently went on an interesting trip to Vegas…learned a lot on that trip (hopefully I will also be able to write about that as well soon). Other than all that it’s just been school, visiting with a cat, and somehow losing my mind in the process. My life sounds very simple right now but it really isn’t haha.

I miss my blog, I feel like I have been neglecting a friend or a good book that I started and never finished and its bothering me. I hope to get in the groove of things and finally have a bit of an organized life so that I can start blogging again because it is truly missed!

That is all for now. I hope to be back on soon writing about Vegas and the outlet store finds and also Baloo and the pie. Thank you for reading and I hope everyone has an amazing week!!! 🙂 (It felt weird not having a picture so here ya go…:] )

Keeping up with summer promises..

i was lucky enough to see the sky like this one night

At the beginning of Summer I was very optimistic that I would be able to keep up with my Summer to-do list. At the beginning it was quite easy, I do online school so I got out 2 weeks earlier than my friends. I had tons of free time on my hands and I used it. However, when public school was let out, I found myself falling behind. I was gone for days at a time at my best friends house forgetting about the bulbs I planted in the backyard, and the recipes I wanted to try and the lord of the rings..the HUGE book I wanted to complete this Summer. When I finally remembered the promises I made to myself at the beginning of Summer I snapped out of just going with the flow and started fighting the current to get things completed. So far, I am 130 pages into the second book of The Lord of the Rings, I have about 230 pages left.. then the last book “The Return of the King” and then I am done! I feel very confident in saying this will happen! In the recipes department, I am doing just okay, I wanted to make a pie that seemed difficult to do, try two new cookie recipes that I thought up and make a cake that I saw on T.V., so far I have only made one of the cookies…I know..dissapointing BUT I have also created a new pasta dish which I posted just the other day and I have also baked two different kinds of bread. I will get the baking done. I will.

the summer pasta creation

In the gardening department…some things are flourishing while others are browning and dying. Only two bulbs have made it. But im still pretty proud of myself, my first time with bulbs and I managed to keep two alive out of five….yes, if it was a test I would have failed but it’s not so I rocked it.

Last summer was a summer full of new adventures. I tried sushi for the first time, I learned how to dive (at the age of 16, its sad I know), I got over my fear of wearing sandals in public (another sad statement haha), I got over wearing cardigans and vests with every outfit and finally found a way to be comfortable enough with myself so that I would no longer have to cover up everyday.

huntington beach 🙂

I was hoping this Summer I would somehow continue to grow..and I did. I now go to the beach every Thursday with my family and have an amazing time, last year I wouldn’t have been caught dead at the beach. I recently got in to working out and this Summer I tried tennis, which was a lot of fun! I have become more open to ideas and more open to change. I have never liked Summer time, winter is my favorite time of year. But it seems that I grow the most in Summer, during Summer I have more time and more chances to be pushed to do new things, more time to really think about nothing important and realize that the things that I once thought were a huge deal are now nothing at all. If it weren’t for the last two Summers I would still be stuck as a shy, awkward,  weird and unproud of it teenager. Today I am well aware of the fact that I am nothing like other teenagers and what is considered “normal” and I am so proud of that fact. I’m glad im weird and geeky and have weird friends because we’re awesome 🙂 .

Me and my fellow bestest weirdo..i am sporting a fish hat and she is playing with a eta-5 interceptor

My Bucket List…at the moment

On February 11th I randomly decided I wanted a bucket list. I grabbed a piece of paper from my printer, a pen and started jotting down everything I needed to complete before dying even though..at the moment..I am only 16 :). I had been wanting to make a list for the longest time though, the reason being: I watch travel shows and documentaries and I’m always learning about awesome new stuff that I one day would like to try but then I forget exactly what it was…but those days are over! Now I just started this list so it is short, I am adding to it when I think of something new and I keep a copy with me now just in case I complete something :). I’m really quite proud of my little list, some things on it are odd but its my list. So here it is…my bucket list at the moment.

  1. See Some Like it Hot in theaters. (this got completed last night!!! 🙂 )
  2. Sneak in to a concert (I heard one of the dj’s on KROQ talking about sneaking in to a Foo Fighters concert and I thought that would be fun)
  3. Visit New Zealand (Even if I don’t get my dream of  living there..I at least want to visit)
  4. Go in those office buildings that are across the street from the highschool (Yes..I know very random but I have lived near these office buildings for 15 years now and I have never been inside and its killing me! So im going in 🙂 )
  5. Meet my future husband Marcus Mumford (Lead singer of Mumford and sons) and give him a copy of my favorite book..leotas Garden..(this one would be odd…but it isn’t because Mr. Mumford loves books)
  6. Meet Batman and get a picture with him. (Yes..this one may be difficult to complete..I am hoping that at Grauman’s chinese theater they have a batman..I know they have a Spiderman..but Spiderman sucks)
  7. Go on a treasure hunt. (I love the movie Goonies..and I don’t care what anyone thinks..I am going on a treasure hunt!)
  8. Swim with dolphins. (it just seems like something you should do)
  9. Interview Nathan..wait for it…Willet (lead singer of my favorite band The Cold War Kids)
  10. Drink wine in Italy. (from the pictures I’ve seen Italy is gorgeous and it just seems like that while your there you should grab a glass)
  11. Have a baguette sword fight in front of the Eiffel Tower. (this is something I have wanted to do since I was little and it will happen 🙂 )
  12. Live in a cottage for any amount of time. (Cottages are awesome)
  13. Open a bakery. (it NEEDS to happen)
  14. Go sky diving…oh yes. (I’m terrified of heights..but this seems like something that would be totally liberating)
  15. Sled in the Swiss alps. (I’m not sure why but it has to happen)

So at the moment my list has 15 items, one of which has already been completed..by the way it was amazing seeing my favorite film on the big screen!

Look at it...in all its glory!!

Keep havin an awesome week and make your self a bucket list..its awesome!

At the moment

Today for a snack I decided to have a blueberry parfait..nothing special just vanilla yogurt with a handful of blueberries on top. I wanted something refreshing and this was perfect…especially because it was in a Betty Boop coffee cup.

mmm... 🙂

I hope everyone keeps having an awesome Thursday!!

At the moment

At the moment I am taking a break from painting my bathroom with my mom with a pepsi. I usually dont drink soda..I usually drink water or even soda water but for some reason I had a crazy craving for a pepsi so I decided why not? (I also thought the picture I took looked cool and I wanted to share it 😉 )

Oh yes
