simple- but THEE best- chicken and pasta in red sauce

K, so I made this recipe up literally two hours ago! and let me just say while I was creating it I had no idea that it was going to become such a hit in the house. I made one package of pasta and 6 pieces of chicken and its all gone! What’s amazing about this recipe is that you can make it your own, I didn’t write down any specific measurements for the spices and flavorings so you can add as much as you want or as little and claim it as your own! You will know if this pasta came out right because when you eat it, it will become the best thing you have ever eaten; this pasta will become your new death row meal!

k so for this recipe you will need the following:

  • 6 pieces of chicken thighs
  • 8 tablespoons of butter
  • garlic powder
  • fresh garlic (4 cloves about)
  • salt
  • thyme
  • chopped onion
  • canned tomato sauce (any kind, plain and spice-free is totally fine)
  • tabasco
  • 3 bay leaves
  • package of pasta (any kind)

K to start, chop the onions and mince the garlic, then set them aside on a plate. Get out the chicken and start cutting the bones out. I didn’t look up how to do this I learned on my own, I cut the skin that s covering the bone and then cut around the bone. It’s really easy! then get out powdered garlic, salt and thyme and season the chicken with it.

Get out a large sauce pan and melt the 8 tablespoons of butter, then add the onions, let them cook. When they are done place the chicken in the pan skin side down. Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat or until the skin is browned. Then flip and cook for another 5 minutes. After add the canned tomato sauce (preferably plain with no spices) and the minced garlic. Then add 3 bay leaves,(this is where you take over) salt, thyme and powdered garlic and a few hits of tabasco. After let simmer on low low heat with the lid on while the pasta cooks. When the pasta is finished plate the chicken and finish the pasta in the sauce then add the chicken back on top and add a few more hits of tabsaco. After that, the pasta is ready to be eaten!!!! 🙂

semi-homemade pasta sauce by Me :)

Okay so this sauce had to be semi-homemade because I used Prego as a base since we were out of tomatoes (next time we have tomatoes though im making my own sauce and posting the recipe:)). I do not like Prego I think it’s too sweet and watery I like my pasta sauce to be thick and spicy. I made this pasta sauce while watching my favorite movie “Some Like it Hot” and both Daisy and Tootsie joined me in the kitchen (they layed on their carpets and slept but they were still there with me 😉 ) Everyone loved the pasta, I made this recipe for dinner so here we go, I hope you like it!

For this recipe you will need Prego “Traditional”, 1 can green chilis (which ever heat temp. you prefer), tomato paste (what ever tomato paste you have in your pantry, ill post a pic of what I used soon), 4 pieces frozen chicken, 1 medium onion chopped, 2 cloves garlic chopped, tablespoon butter, 2 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoons parsley, 1 and 1/2 tablespoon thyme, 3 tablespoons corn starch, 1/4 cup  chicken broth, 1/4 cup cream cheese. The pasta that I suggest using for this sauce would be rigatoni or something similar.

Add half of the 67 oz. container of Prego to a pot then add 1 can green chilis, mix together on low heat, then add 1 tablespoon tomato paste. While the sauce simmers get your chicken out of the freezer and place it in a pan with about an inch of water, put on the stove over medium high heat (make sure and watch the chicken). In another small pan over medium heat put the tablespoon butter and add the chopped onion when the onions become translucent add the garlic (don’t add at the beginning or it will burn and become bitter). Now back to the sauce add 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 tablespoons parsley and 1 tablespoon and 1/2 of thyme mix together then add 3 tablespoons cornstarch mix again and then add 1/4 cup chicken broth, then add the 1/4 cup cream cheese and the onions and garlic if they are done. When the chicken is finished cooking cut it up in to strips and add to the sauce then pour over which ever pasta you chose and enjoy 🙂
