Last Holiday and my Christmas tree

At the moment I’m sitting in my living room with my pups, my mom and my absolutely amazing Christmas tree. I will be writing about my Christmas tree tomorrow (probably) so I wont go in to detail but its awesome so be excited to see pictures haha.

I believe I have good taste in movies, some movies I love just because the comedy is so stupid I laugh till I cry..those movies aren’t classy and those aren’t a great example..a great example would probably be The Big Sleep? Anyways this movie isn’t like a classic, it doesn’t captivate you and blow your mind like Citizen Kane or 8 1/2 but it does make you feel good. It is a feel good movie, like You’ve Got Mail or Please Dont Eat the Daisies (adore that movie) this movie makes me want to get outside even while it is pouring rain and start living..now I don’t know what exactly I would do or accomplish..make memories..thats it!  The movie makes you  want to conquer the world, see everything, try everything ..do everything. Another reason I love this movie so much that I smile at the mention of its title is because of all the cooking done in it..I love Chef Didier!! This movie is perfect for me at the holidays..it makes me so grateful for my life and my family and friends. Its funny and sad..mostly funny and the characters are so perfect you feel like friends.

So light a fire (only if you have a fire-place!) grab a candy cane, a cup of hot chocolate and watch this movie and feel completely grateful and at peace.

Have an amazing sunday!!! (:

Pirates of the Caribbean 4….The official Trailer..*insert excited scream*

OH OH OH im so excited…everytime i watch this trailer my heart almost stops..

Officially Christmas..

Well..its here! The best time of the year (yeah it’s a fact)..it is now Christmas time because I have finally gotten to “Eloise at Christmas Time”(I really feel like a little kid right now..full of christmas spirit(; ). This movie is amazing, at least to me it is..Eloise is hilarious her attitude and behaviour makes her adorable and the way she handles all her different adventurous situations will always making me laugh no matter how old I am. I watched Eloise with a cup of apple cinnamon tea and my two pups Daisy and Tootsie passed out by my side. Christmas movies are such fun, the point of the post isn’t to say that “Eloise at Christmas Time” is my favorite one it’s just that its kicks off the holiday. My favorite christmas movie is of course “A Christmas Story”.. Oh how I adore that movie.. whats not the love?? the leg lamp..the crazy Bumpuses dogs that run through the house..the PINK bunny footsie pajamas…the “Chinese turkey” at the chinese food resteraunt..Randy eating like a little piggy at the table and finally Mr. Parkers hilarious battle with the furnace. I really cant wait to watch “A Christmas Story” with my family..its one of the best parts of christmas. Christmas really also is incomplete unless you stock up on hot chocolate, candy canes, egg nog (and a lovely egg nog scented candle that i thought would be nasty but smells amazing) and my favorite christmas cookies.. pepparkakor which is really just ginger snaps but to me they are even more special. I soon will be making hundreds of these just for the holidays and ill be sure to post the recipe I always use and pictures. I hope everyone has a great weekend and an amazing start to this holiday season.

Why every Star Wars fan and geek loving human needs to see “Fanboys”

As I sit on my couch coughing non stop wishing I hadnt been the one sitting front row for Fantasmic! at Disneyland in 45 degree weather the only thing getting me through my final days of Thanks giving break is the movie “Fanboys”. Oh “Fanboys”, how I love thee..I was first shown this movie by my father about 4 months ago and immediately fell madly in love. The movie is about four and later five friends traveling across country to the Skywalker Ranch to steal a copy of the new star wars film for their friend who is dying of cancer before the film is released. What makes this movie a gem is the fact that they are all crazy star wars fans…they know every little thing and even fight about the film. I have seen “Fanboys” about 10 times since being introduced to the movie and I constantly quote the movie with my friend who also now loves the movie. The great thing about this movie is if you love Star Wars you will for sure love this, if you love geeky cute guys or girls you will love this, and even if you like neither of those you should probably give this movie a chance because even if you aren’t a fan of Star Wars (for reasons I cannot understand) and you miss all the Star Wars jokes (and there are a lot) you will fall in love with the characters even wishing you could become best friends and you laugh non stop because oh gosh are the lines hilarious its non stop laughing.

A quote from the amazing movie

Windows-” You guys both got to stop perpetuating this myth that Boba Fett is some kind of bad-ass. All right? He has a jet pack. So did the Rocketeer. Really cool. When it comes time for battle, the man’s Michael Bay – all style, no substance.”

Hutch-“If you diss the Fett the again, I will corn-hole you with a lightsaber!”

End of weekend

Well, the weekend is over and I must say it was amazing! Saturday I managed to watch all of the Indiana Jones movies while working on science labs and Around the world in 80 days (it was finally on TCM again). Today I headed to Disneyland with my three friends who are the funnest people to attend Disneyland with, I learned how to draw Dopey in the Animation Academy and it was pretty good if I do say so myself ;). I thought I would end this weekend with a picture of my boxer that I took about a year ago, it has to be one of the best pictures of her I have ever taken. I hope everyone’s monday is pure awesomeness 🙂

what im up to

Goodness have I been busy!

I have had so much school work my head has been spinning, I feel like I have been sitting at the computer working on home work for a year. I have a recipe to post I just need to put a pic of the finished result on my computer first so a new recipe is coming very soon. This week I am working on my least favorite class, music appreciation, and this weekend I am working on three different science labs for…..you guessed it, science class. I am actually quite excited for the science labs I get to make a pendulum for one. The weather went from being windy and cold and amazing to hot, dry, and horrid beyond imagination I hate this weather! I can’t think, sleep or go outside without feeling like my skin is bursting into fire. I find it strange that some people love this weather and I feel as if I have the flu in this weather I have good news though! The weather is supposed to cool down to the 60’s next week….so…all I have to do is make it to then and then once its amazing outside again I shall celebrate by making french bread. Last sunday was Halloween and it was so much fun to see all the little kids dressed up to trick or treat, I handed out candy while wearing my bride of Frankenstein shirt and saw princess’s, a few pirates, an entire family dressed as characters from the wizard of oz and twins that were both Spiderman. I carved pumpkins with my dad, my pumpkin was Dracula while my dads was a regular pumpkin whose pumpkin insides were hanging out of its carved mouth. I finished the night with a game of monopoly with my friend and the movie Van Helsing.

Well, it was nice to catch up but im off to do Pilates.

Final farewell to Tony Curtis

I can’t believe Tony Curtis is gone! I found out early early this morning when my father woke me up at 5:30 AM to tell me, the first thing I said was “You woke me up at 5:30 to tell me this?” haha needless to say it took me a while to really realize what was going on and when I finally was awake enough to realize one of my most favorite actors of all time had passed away my heart broke. I read Mr. Curtis’s blog  all the time constantly checking it for new posts, I felt like I knew him. I feel like I have lost a grandfather. Tony Curtis was hilarious, he was an amazing actor..he’s in my favorite movie “Some Like it Hot” (I consider that movie to be a Jack Lemmon film but that is the movie that introduced him to me). The movie that really made him one of my favorite actors is “Houdini” I know a lot of people didn’t like that movie but I loved it! and Tony said he would have done it for free because of all the magic tricks he got to learn while making the movie. I always wanted to meet Tony, but I never got the chance every time he was doing a signing or having a screening of one of his movies I was busy, I just always thought he would be around forever. He was a great actor, artist and person, I am going to miss him like crazy.

semi-homemade pasta sauce by Me :)

Okay so this sauce had to be semi-homemade because I used Prego as a base since we were out of tomatoes (next time we have tomatoes though im making my own sauce and posting the recipe:)). I do not like Prego I think it’s too sweet and watery I like my pasta sauce to be thick and spicy. I made this pasta sauce while watching my favorite movie “Some Like it Hot” and both Daisy and Tootsie joined me in the kitchen (they layed on their carpets and slept but they were still there with me 😉 ) Everyone loved the pasta, I made this recipe for dinner so here we go, I hope you like it!

For this recipe you will need Prego “Traditional”, 1 can green chilis (which ever heat temp. you prefer), tomato paste (what ever tomato paste you have in your pantry, ill post a pic of what I used soon), 4 pieces frozen chicken, 1 medium onion chopped, 2 cloves garlic chopped, tablespoon butter, 2 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 tablespoons parsley, 1 and 1/2 tablespoon thyme, 3 tablespoons corn starch, 1/4 cup  chicken broth, 1/4 cup cream cheese. The pasta that I suggest using for this sauce would be rigatoni or something similar.

Add half of the 67 oz. container of Prego to a pot then add 1 can green chilis, mix together on low heat, then add 1 tablespoon tomato paste. While the sauce simmers get your chicken out of the freezer and place it in a pan with about an inch of water, put on the stove over medium high heat (make sure and watch the chicken). In another small pan over medium heat put the tablespoon butter and add the chopped onion when the onions become translucent add the garlic (don’t add at the beginning or it will burn and become bitter). Now back to the sauce add 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 tablespoons parsley and 1 tablespoon and 1/2 of thyme mix together then add 3 tablespoons cornstarch mix again and then add 1/4 cup chicken broth, then add the 1/4 cup cream cheese and the onions and garlic if they are done. When the chicken is finished cooking cut it up in to strips and add to the sauce then pour over which ever pasta you chose and enjoy 🙂
